Frenchpine is located in Tasmania, south of Australia. Its brand new Oscar 530 optimises cutting of the radiata pine logs it processes, with diameters ranging from 30 to 90 cm and length from 3 to 6.10 m. Frenchpine cuts a range of sawn products intended primarily as construction timber or appearance grades. Crosby Needham, sawmill manager, gives a 5% estimates of the increase in yield related to the project ! As he puts it himself : "To get an extra 5 or 6 percent on the volume we are putting through represents a lot of money." |
