DELTA 2000 - Programmator

Programmator is a tool for preparing production schedule in a sawmill. Applying this schedule in the mill will result in producing the exact per-size volume required by the order book, while optimising raw material usage.

Input data :

·         Available logs during the production period. Programmator uses a diameter and length distribution table.

·         Orders on the same period of time :

-          Size list (width, thickness, length)

-          Number of boards to be cut for each size

-          Sale price per size.

In addition, standard side boards (without any specific quantities to be cut) can be include in the calculation.

Operation :

Programmator will first look-up all possible sawing patterns, then select the best combination among them, according to available logs and required production volume.

Results :

Programmator compute the number of logs per diameter class to be used, with the associated sawing pattern, so that :

·         Volumes on order are achieved

·         Total raw material cost is minimum

·         Total production cost is minimum

·         Only available logs are used (!)
